The Moment

There is a moment in our life when we realize that we are one the precipice of great change. It is a moment that arrives with clarity – you’ll know it when it arrives. If you think to yourself “I wonder if this is THE moment” I assure you that it is not. There will be no question.
The moment may arrive around the point in our lives when we realize that we have as many days behind us as we do to look forward to. It may arrive at a point when we take stock of what we have done, how far we have come and take measure of our worth. Have we achieved what we set out to achieve? Have we become all that we can become? Have we reached our potential; that potential of innocent childhood fantasies where we were always the superhero in our own scenario?
I believe that we are each uniquely gifted and that we arrive here on earth with infinite possibilities and challenges that, if we use our giftedness, will fulfil our destiny. Some are gifted musically with the ability to speak a language of notes and rhythms, some are gifted with their comprehension of numbers. Some are gifted communicators that flow between listening and providing a message, and some are gifted artists who can imagine a world even more beautiful and hearth wrenching than the one in which we live. Some are gifted leaders who inspire and lend confidence and some have the ability to see an empty space and imagine a great architectural masterpiece. Some are gifted in hospitality with the gift of making all feel welcome and some are gifted story tellers with the ability to transform people’s reality.
When you arrive at your moment, the moment where you take stock of your life the question might be have you used your gift to better the world? It may not be anything monumental but have you changed your corner of the world in a way that has influenced others in a positive way?
To quote Marianne Williamson, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
At the precipice, at that deciding moment in your life, you might ask have you let yourself truly shine? Have you embraced your power and allowed your gifts to enlighten those around you?
Have you been fabulous?
As I stand at the crossroads and am forced to choose a path it is, sadly, my instinct to choose the safer path; the one where I might indeed not be forced to shine, the one where I might only glimmer. So I may just have to “manifest the Glory of God” within and allow myself to fall…. into creator Spirit’s all encompassing warm embrace.
One. Two. Three…
